Herbario Los Dos Laredos

Hi,

It has always been a passion of mine to create unconditional items that are novelties, or one-of-a-kind (OOAK) and today, I want to share them with you. Herbario Los Dos Laredos is a sub brand from I-35 Leather, where we can explore the unique, the different, artist side of things. 

The word "Herbario" to me it means the a collection of plants pressed and dried in a book with labels of its name, property, etc. This idea came from an experience in elementary, I was assigned to do an herbarium as an assignment and experience the early botanist practices.

I loved going around my mom's garden and collect leaves and flowers (drying them, picking the best ones), then writing a key card with the common name, scientific name, etc. It felt almost magical to hold a botanical diary once it was completed. Show-and-tell class everyone presented different herbarium book designs and different plants based on their surroundings. It was an amazing experience that stayed with me forever.

Expanding of the concept and on the satisfying experience of making an herbarium early in my life, I applied it to the artistic desire to create a small collection (artistic exploration series) of handcrafted (mix media) goods . The words "Los Dos Laredos" (the border city Laredo, TX, US and Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas , MX) means not just the place, but the culture were I am from and how much it had played a large influence in me, when it comes to the designing different items.
